Job summary

Tufts Medicine is hiring for a general facilities maintenance role at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. The position involves performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and construction tasks across hospital buildings and grounds, with emphasis on electrical, plumbing, carpentry and safety duties.

The role requires basic trade knowledge, vocational training, and a willingness to work a 2nd shift full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of building maintenance experience.
• On-the-job training in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repairs (switches, ballasts, motors).
• Perform plumbing tasks (drains, fixtures, rodding).
• Conduct minor carpentry (doors, shelving, locks).
• Repair plaster, brickwork or concrete; solder and weld as needed.
