Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) seeks a Help Desk Technician for a temporary night-shift role in Honolulu, HI (2:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.). The position supports HQ leadership IT services and travel-comms operations as part of the C4 technical focal point.

The role requires 2+ years in service desk, CompTIA Security+, and a strong ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical staff. Potential conversion to permanent employment based on contract needs.

Qualifications

• TS clearance required with ability to obtain SCI.
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• 2+ years in service desk or help desk with basic hardware/software/network troubleshooting.
• Basic system administration and AD concepts.

Responsibilities

• Temporary for ~6 months with potential to transition to permanent full-time based on contract needs.
• Serve as the initial contact at the service desk for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Facilitate secure and non-secure communications and supervise IS installations.
• Manage ITIL-based incident management, service requests, problem, access, and event management.
• Support Local Registration Authority duties per DoD and customer standards.
• Provide Monthly Status Reports detailing progress and issues for government action.
