Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) in Honolulu, HI, seeks a Help Desk Technician for a night shift (2:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.). The role provides Tier-1 support to HQ executive personnel, including distinguished visitors, with duties spanning hardware, software, and networking issues in a DoD environment.

The position emphasizes secure communications, ITIL-based incident management, and liaison with external networks, ensuring operations and security across headquarters.

Qualifications

• TS clearance required with ability to obtain SCI.
• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• At least 2 years in service/help desk support with basic hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Basic level knowledge of system administration and Active Directory.
• Strong communication to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Night-shift operations from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
• Serve as initial contact at the service desk for ADP hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Facilitate secure and non-secure communications and liaise with external networks (Navy Marine Corps Intranet, DISA NOC).
• Manage a service desk tool based on ITIL for incident, request, and problem management.
• Support Local Registration Authority duties per DoD and customer standards.
• Provide Monthly Status Reports to COR-appointed Technical Assistant.
