Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Critical Care Unit. This full-time night shift position supports the nursing team with clerical and secretarial duties on the unit.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, handling communications, arranging procedures, and ensuring accurate supply and equipment management. Preference given to those with HUC training or hospital experience.

Qualifikationen

• Unit Secretary course or 1 year of HUC hospital experience preferred.
• Must read with comprehension and write legibly.
• Proficient in grammar and medical terminology.

Aufgaben

• Carries out the secretarial and clerical duties for the nursing unit.
• Communicates patient requests promptly to the nursing staff.
• Orders and charges for supplies and equipment.
• Schedules procedures and examinations with appropriate departments.
• Notifies consults when ordered (physicians, classes, etc.).
• Maintains the patient record and operates the computer system.
• Processes patient classification data manually or via computer.
• Removes medications from the delivery system and gives to staff.
• Non-essential functions: other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to health/safety/competence standards.
