Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal minimum education specified; equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be CNA, MA, or EMT at hire, or a HUC I, PCA, CNA, MA, or EMT with six or more months of Covenant Health experience and complete the Patient Care Assistant training protocol.
• For HUC II working in Cardiac Areas, completion of Apex modules 1-6 and/or telemetry class prior to hire.
• External new hires must have CNA, MA, or EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties related to admission, discharge, transfer, and death.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately and notifies consults as ordered.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintains unit stock and equipment inventories.
• Answers telephone and intercoms; relays and documents messages; ensures timely follow-up.
• Organizes patient charts, schedules tests and appointments, and ensures proper record handling.
