Job summary

Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, WA is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator to join our Acute Care Unit. The HUC will serve as receptionist, patient flow facilitator, and communication coordinator for the unit, supporting providers and maintaining electronic medical charts.

This role also involves managing schedules, assisting with phone calls, coordinating patient information, and monitoring telemetry. Night shift 12-hour shifts, 24 hours per week; pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Unit secretary course completion preferred.
• Nursing Assistant Certified or program completion preferred.
• Previous hospital unit secretary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as receptionist for the unit.
• Facilitate patient flow within the Acute Care Unit (ACU).
• Coordinate unit communications among staff and providers.
• Maintain electronic medical charts for incoming patients and update schedules.
• Monitor telemetry equipment and assist with phone calls as needed.
