Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for per diem day shifts in a fast-paced oncology unit. You will support staff, providers, and patients with efficient communication, triage call lights, and timely information.

You will collaborate with the charge RN to manage patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges, and prepare discharge packets. Proficiency with Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook is required to ensure seamless coordination.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required, plus relevant healthcare/administrative experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, administrative, or customer service roles.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide phones and triage call lights; support internal/external communications.
• Assist with patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges with the care team.
• Prepare discharge packets and coordinate transportation and paperwork.
• Maintain unit paperwork and inventory; ensure a welcoming, organized environment.
• Use Epic, Teams, and Outlook for documentation and coordination.
