Job summary

Forward Air Corporation seeks a qualified Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and document freight in a busy terminal. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, following safety procedures and OSHA standards.

As an experienced team member, you may mentor newer Material Handlers and help solve on-the-floor operational challenges while maintaining accurate freight records and ensuring timely shipments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy and documentation.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock and comply with OSHA/PPE standards.
• Mentor junior Material Handlers and support on-floor problem solving.
