Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years combined experience in Medsurg/Telemetry and Intermediate Care; 5 years preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications; RN license in state of employment; PALS required at CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation) for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
• Delegates tasks to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about care plans and discharge needs.
• Ensures patient safety and maintains accurate documentation across care transitions.
