Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a competent Critical Care nurse who works independently and provides routine and complex nursing care aligned with patient treatment plans. The role involves assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, with ongoing education for patients and families.

The nurse will be able to manage contingencies in a high-acuity setting, delegate appropriately, and ensure safe, evidence-based care across units during a 7PM–7AM shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN license in the state of employment or compact required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation) for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided; ensures accurate charting.
