Job summary

Medevac Alabama in Mobile, AL seeks an Emergency Medical Services Dispatcher to coordinate patient transports, manage calls, and serve as the communication hub among callers, crews, hospitals, and agencies.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks on a rotating night schedule; preferred EMT and BLS credentials, and experience with CAD systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.
• Experience with multi-line telephones and dispatching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer transport requests via a multi-line telephone system.
• Coordinate and monitor units using telephone, radio, GPS, and computer software.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations when transmitting information.
• Accurately document patient information, including billing details.
• Provide accurate information to patients and crews.
• Enter every call into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) program.
• Identify issues, analyze options, and discuss courses of action with supervisors and management.
