Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Laguna Hills, CA seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Services department. This per-diem night-shift position supports patient care, directs Patient Care Technician activity, and ensures accurate documentation per unit standards.

Qualified candidates hold a California RN license with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications. One year of acute care ED/ICU experience is preferred; BSN is a plus. Proficiency with EMR systems is expected.

Qualifications

• One-year acute care experience in Emergency and/or Critical Care nursing preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses health care needs.
• Follows a systematic data collection process with patient and family involvement.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and plan of care.
• Develops and contributes to a written plan of care.
• Implements the plan to attain outcomes.
• Evaluates patient outcomes and documents results.
• Considers safety, effectiveness and cost in care delivery.
• Identifies and implements self-development plans.
• Reports patient problems to appropriate resources.
• Addresses age-specific needs of adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
• Utilizes the Reddinet emergency communication system.
• Maintains punctuality and adheres to policies and directives.
• Interacts positively with patients, families and team.
