Advocate Health’s Emergency Department at Good Shepherd Hospital seeks a full-time coordinator to manage test scheduling, communications, and EMR tasks in a 36-hour week, night shifts, and alternating weekends/holidays. You will interact with multiple departments to support patient care and maintain accurate records.

The role requires high school education (GED/HSED acceptable) and healthcare exposure preferred.

Formación

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communications with patients and staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle interruptions and changing priorities.
• High level of attention to detail essential for accuracy.
• Certification Addendum applies to ongoing hospital-based certifications.
• Maintain annual requirements for hospital certifications (DNV, CARF or others).

Responsabilidades

• Coordinates tests and treatments with and between departments to schedule tests and treatments.
• Facilitates communications to support patient care (phones, paging, HIM system); screens calls and troubleshoots equipment.
• Maintains EMR and other systems for ordering and charting; processes daily charges.
• Prepares chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges; handles medical records transfers.
• Verifies patient demographic/registration data in medical records; ensures appropriate level of care.
