Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Unit Support Coordinator for the Emergency Department to support operations, maintain a clean and safe environment, manage data and records, and handle clerical duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months of hospital or clinic experience, basic medical terminology, PC/Internet/email proficiency, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience in a hospital or doctor’s office.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Proficient in PC, Internet and email.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Training in data entry of clinical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support departmental operations by providing effective and timely communications, maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work environment, maintaining data and related records, and by performing clerical and other support services as directed.
• Responsible for processing physician orders, communication, and other general duties.
