Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a Full-Time Night Shift Patient Care Coordinator to support nursing units by coordinating tests and treatments across departments. You will manage calls and use the EMR system to assist patient flow.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, preferred healthcare experience, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to rotate nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED/HSED required.
• Prefers medical terminology experience or healthcare background.
• Must be able to work night shifts and weekends on rotation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates tests and treatments between departments to schedule tests and treatments.
• Facilitates communications to support patient care including multi-line phone and paging.
• Maintains EMR knowledge and processes patient charges and supplies in the system.
• Compiles necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges and expirations.
• Verifies patient demographic information and registration in the medical record.
• Establishes positive customer relations and responds to requests promptly.
