Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach, VA seeks a Supervisor, Central Communications to lead centralized emergency and non-emergency communications on the night shift. This role ensures seamless operations that support patient care, physician response, and hospital operations around the clock.

The ideal candidate has five years in emergency or high‑volume communications, with at least three years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in emergency or nonemergency communications, call center operations, or a 24/7 operational environment.
• At least three (3) years in a supervisory, lead, or team leadership role

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory leadership for centralized emergency and non‑emergency communications operations during the assigned shift
• Monitor real‑time performance, staffing coverage, and system functionality; manage escalations to ensure service continuity
• Supervise, coach, and develop frontline team members to achieve performance, quality, and compliance expectations
• Lead emergency communications, including activation of emergency alerts, physician paging, and Emergency Notification System coordination
• Partner with Workforce Management, Quality Assurance, and leadership to support standardized operations and continuous improvement
