Job summary

Gift of Hope is seeking a dedicated professional to support organ and tissue donation coordination during a night shift, with a fixed, rotating schedule including alternating weekends. You will manage donor referrals, document information, and collaborate with hospitals, eye banks, and other partners to optimize referrals and logistics.

The position emphasizes compassion, accuracy, and autonomy in a high‑volume environment, with a strong focus on HIPAA compliance and patient/family sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to make sound clinical assessments in a high pressure environment.
• Ability to stay focused in an environment that has constant activity.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional manner and to provide excellent customer service when dealing with all Gift of Hope partners.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission, vision, and core values; adhere to policies in performing responsibilities.
• Acquire and manage confidential records, protecting information.
• Collect pre-screening information on donor-related calls and document according to policies.
• Evaluate referrals for initial donor eligibility and forward to eye banks per protocols.
• Update stakeholders on status of active referrals in a timely manner.
• Coordinate logistics on referrals and document in systems.
• Communicate referral information with supervisors or partner organizations.
• Secure permission of county coroner or medical examiner for tissue/eye recovery.
• Follow up with hospital staff to determine status of referrals.
• Complete routine competency evaluations.
