Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network seeks a dedicated coordinator to oversee evaluation, authorization, medical management, and surgical recovery of organs for transplantation or research.

The role involves collaboration with hospital teams and families to facilitate donation, obtain consent, document clinical information, and ensure proper labeling and transport of organs. Night shifts and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
• Ability to document clinical information clearly and concisely.
• Coordination of clinical management of deceased organ donors.
• Ability to obtain and document authorization for organ donation.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission and adhere to policies.
• Work 12-hour night shifts (7PM-7AM).
• Conduct donor evaluations through review of hospital records to determine eligibility.
• Coordinate the clinical management of deceased organ donors with anesthesia staff.
• Coordinate the surgical recovery and distribution of deceased donor organs for transplantation or research.
• Package and label organs according to policy.
• Participate in training and departmental activities.
