Job summary

YAI is opening the START Resource Center in Kingston, New York, and seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on promoting independence, meaningful activities, and community connections in a respectful, person-centered approach.

You will work part-time, Friday through Sunday, 9:00pm to 7:00am, provide daily living support, monitor health and safety, document care activities in an electronic system, and

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to follow individualized service plans and policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths and independence.
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships.
• Ensure health, safety, and adherence to program guidelines.
• Document care activities and progress in electronic records.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and IPoPs as required.
• Support with meals, activities, and community engagement.
