Job summary

YAI Network is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Chelsea, Manhattan to support individuals with I/DD across homes, day programs, and community settings.

Positions include morning, evening, and overnight shifts with full-time and part-time availability. You will help individuals achieve personal goals, document progress, and remain compliant with safety and care standards in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet physical demands including walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds with assistance.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for billing and documentation.
• Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD, with patience and empathy.
• Ability to develop professional relationships aligned with YAI’s mission.
• Must hold or obtain SCIP-R within 1 year; additional certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests, and abilities while upholding rights.
• Support personal goals, encourage socialization, and facilitate community connections.
• Provide supervision and safety; assist with fire safety and escalation when needed.
• Document logs, progress notes, and data in electronic health records.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate programmatic needs.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and person-centered plans.
