Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Ohio is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair our fleet trucks to keep them safe and on the road. You will follow maintenance schedules, service electrical, air, and braking systems, and perform roadside repairs when qualified.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to read manuals and DVIRs, and accurate record-keeping. Expect a Sunday-Thursday night shift with varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure.
• In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems preferred.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or from DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related components.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters.
• Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul vehicle systems such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified.
• Ensure safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
