Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a diesel/heavy vehicle mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet in Ohio. You will diagnose issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure safety systems are in good order.

Requires experience with repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics, plus strong mechanical aptitude. You’ll work nights, weekends as needed, and keep precise maintenance records while delivering reliable service to customers and drivers.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair.
• Strong knowledge of truck components and systems preferred.
• Experience with heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform repairs.
• Inspect, repair, and overhaul vehicle electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Conduct routine housekeeping of tools, shop, and work areas.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
