Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of heavy trucks. You will perform inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance to keep vehicles safe and operable.

The shift runs 8pm–10am Sunday through Thursday. Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, component replacements, and accurate record-keeping, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must have the tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Ability to safely drive service vehicles and test drives.
• Good mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ability to complete paperwork (hard copies or electronically).
• Ability to understand and comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make repairs.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements.
• Check and replace fluids and filters.
• Inspect and repair vehicle systems (electrical, air, brakes).
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified.
• Maintain safety devices in working order.
• Maintain records of time, orders, and parts usage.
