Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is hiring a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician in Ohio to perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on our fleet of commercial vehicles. You will work with DVIRs, diagnose issues, perform component replacements, and ensure systems meet safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to read repair manuals and communicate professionally with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot or repair.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines; welding preferred.
• In-depth mechanical aptitude and knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Knowledge of Lock/Tag Out procedures or ability to learn them.
• Experience with Regen System and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and/or DVIRs in a safe manner in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related systems.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters.
• Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul vehicle electrical, air and brake systems.
• Perform roadside repairs, when qualified, for the type of vehicle operated.
• Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties related to tools, shop, and work areas.
• Interact with internal and external customers professionally in writing and verbally.
• Complete yearly DOT inspection forms.
• Maintain accurate records on the computer/tablet.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
