Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair our fleet to keep trucks safe and in operation.

The role involves scheduled maintenance, roadside repairs when qualified, safety checks, DOT inspections, and meticulous record-keeping. Strong attention to detail, reliable communication, and ability to work nights are essential.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, diagrams, etc.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to complete necessary paperwork (hard copies or electronically).
• Must read/speak English well enough to communicate and understand safety training.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters.
• Inspect/overhaul vehicle systems (electrical, air, brakes).
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified.
• Ensure safety devices are in good working order.
• Maintain clean tools and work area.
