Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our AWS team, responsible for hardware diagnostics, server maintenance, and network troubleshooting across global data centers. You will participate in on-call rotations, assist in change-management activities, and help onboard new technicians.

Travel between sites is required to support 24/7 operations. Expect a physically demanding role with lifting up to 40 pounds, extended shifts, and the ability to work in an industrial

Qualifications

• 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
• Willingness to travel to multiple data center sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services.
• Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
• Help interview, train and onboard new team members.
