Job summary

100Hires, Inc. Glendale, AZ seeks an experienced Controls Engineer for the night shift to provide automation support for high-speed beverage production.

You will act as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and drives across production lines, collaborating with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality teams. The role requires an associate degree in a related field and 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in fast-moving manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration of equipment.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
• Maintain backups, drawings, and change records.
