Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for the Glendale, AZ facility. The role serves as the on-shift controls expert, delivering Tier 1/2 troubleshooting and leading automation projects to boost throughput and reliability.
Responsibilities include mentoring maintenance staff, maintaining PLC/HMI documentation, and supporting system upgrades and new installations. Candidates with beverage industry experience are preferred.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production safely and efficiently.
- Identify recurring problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Support high-speed beverage processing and packaging systems.
- Collaborate across departments on continuous-improvement initiatives.
