Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, producing parts per blueprints and specifications.

You will read complex drawings, conduct precision measurements, and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues, while mentoring junior teammates in a lean manufacturing environment. A strong quality focus and math proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and five or more years related machining experience in a high technology manufacturing environment.
• Able to set up and run a minimum of five CNC machine types.
• Reads, understands, and follows blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, and informal written or verbal instructions.
• Able to make and evaluate precision machine set ups on a minimum of five CNC machine types.
• Has working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Runs multiple machines efficiently, adapting tooling to achieve results with broad production machining experience.
• Creates standard machining programs using IGF Software and proves out/edit programs.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of CNC lathes/mills to perform high-precision operations.
• Interprets customer requirements from blueprints, drawings, engineering specs and quality directives.
• Interfaces with engineering to resolve drawing errors and suggest design changes.
• Implements manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials and tooling.
• May advise and assist with tooling design.
• Develops and defines processes with limited documentation as required.
• Responsible for machining and checking parts to maintain high quality and efficiency.
• Inspects finished parts with gauges, calipers, micrometers, CMM and surface plate techniques; ensures calibration per schedule.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness, accuracy and reliability; performs SPC as required.
• Trains and mentors less experienced team members.
