Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced certified nursing assistant for our Med Surg/Ortho unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will perform vital signs and activities of daily living under RN supervision, follow the care plan, and participate in department education programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a CNA program and CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA license required and on the Maryland Registry.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and read/write/speak English.
• Physical ability for lifting, bending and turning; acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Follow the care plan and report to the RN and healthcare team.
• Participate in education programs and professional initiatives.
• Maintain a culture of safety and proper use of resources.
