Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg Unit. This full-time role involves performing vital signs and ADLs under RN supervision, with a night shift schedule and every-other-weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA license required.
• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maryland and be on the State Registry.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively.
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Appropriately utilizes resources.
• Identifies and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies.
• Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.
