Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg department at 34402 Aurora St. Lukes South Shore.

This full-time role involves supporting the RN with daily patient care, taking vitals, aiding with bathing, feeding, and mobility during 2300-0730 shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates must have a GED/HSED or high school diploma, BLS within 45 days, and Nurse Aide certification in good standing.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum (annual requirements).
• Annual educational requirements for hospital certifications (DNV, CARF, etc).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Measures and documents vital signs and patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Supports admission/transfer/discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and assists with lab-related tasks as indicated.
• Performs errands and maintains stock for nursing area; cleans equipment.
• Positions and transports patients and assists with nutrition needs.
• Maintains skin integrity and manages patient supplies and appliances.
