Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses in delivering patient care. You will assist with daily activities, monitor vitals, document in EMR, and help with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Must maintain competency in infection prevention and follow department policies. The role requires BLS and Nurse Aide certification in good standing, GED/HSED or high school diploma, and ability to work a full-time day shift including Sundays.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care (bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, ambulation).
• Measures and documents vitals and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to the RN.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Performs errands, stocks nursing area, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Supports patient positioning, transport, and nutritional needs under RN direction.
• Maintains skin integrity and provides necessary patient supplies and appliances.
