Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or awaiting certification within four months of date into the position; training provided by facility.
• Completes yearly competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (min. 12 hours annually).
• If applicable, registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver; must have valid driver’s license and pass driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital signs.
• Documents resident interactions and reports changes to the charge nurse.
• Assists with transferring, repositioning, walking, and Rom exercises.
• Aids with meals/dining and ensures hydration.
• Performs housekeeping and laundry to maintain clean living areas.
• Supports wellness and recreational programs for residents.
