Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Bismarck, ND is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) to deliver resident-centered care in a long‑term care setting. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the nursing team under supervision of an RN.

The role includes shift variations, a 40-hour work week, and opportunities for daily earnings access. The position requires CNA certification and a minimum state credential, with ongoing education and driving requirements as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually; maintains all department specific required certifications.
• Where applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• May classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license.
• Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions as per the Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
• Records vital signs and reports changes to RN or charge nurse.
• Provides basic nursing care under supervision and supports infection prevention practices.
• Performs housekeeping and laundry tasks to keep living areas clean and safe.
• Participates in wellness and recreational programs and supports residents’ social engagement.
