Job summary

Advocate Health's Atrium Health Stanly - Lab is hiring a full-time Phlebotomist to collect blood samples by venipuncture or capillary puncture and to process specimens in a fast-paced clinical setting. The position supports patient registration, uses hospital information systems, trains new staff, and ensures documentation and specimen labeling meet standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Phlebotomy certification preferred where phlebotomy is required.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and specimen handling.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems and patient data documentation.
• Awareness of safety procedures and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes blood samples by venipuncture or capillary puncture.
• Prepares and processes nonblood specimens accurately and timely.
• Performs patient registration and supports clinical staff as needed.
• Maintains equipment, documentation, and labeling per standards.
• Trains new team members and students on department processes.
