Job summary

Advocate Health Stanly Lab seeks a capable phlebotomist to collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture, process specimens, and assist with registration and transport. You will maintain accurate documentation, support patient care areas by phone, and ensure compliance with safety and lab protocols.

Typical schedule includes 36 hours per week with potential shifts. High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred where phlebotomy is a duty.
• Knowledge of lab techniques and equipment used to perform minor tests and handle specimens.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood via venipuncture/capillary puncture accurately and timely.
• Process nonblood specimens and prepare samples for testing.
• Assist in specimen handling, registration, and transport.
• Maintain documentation and labeling per standards.
• Provide phone support to patient care areas with professionalism.
