Job summary

Atrium Health Stanly - Lab is seeking a Lab Technician to collect and process blood and other specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support patient registration and documentation. The role requires adherence to safety and infection control standards.

The incumbent will operate laboratory information systems, maintain equipment, and assist in training new staff while supporting 6a-6p night shift and potential day shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred where phlebotomy is duty.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process patient blood and nonblood specimens accurately.
• Perform phlebotomy by venipuncture and capillary puncture per procedures.
• Register patients and handle documentation for tests and orders.
• Maintain equipment and clean work area; stock supplies.
• Provide phone support to patient care areas in a courteous manner.
• Adhere to safety, PPE, and infection control standards.
