Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. This role supports patient comfort, safety and measures to promote family-centered care.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS/HeartSaver certification within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred and shifts are Night, Non-Exempt in the United States of America.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist direct patient care by providing basic physical care as directed by the RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bedmaking.
• Transport patients and specimens safely across the facility.
• Perform glucose monitoring, urine and stool testing and maintain logs.
• Perform routine phlebotomy and record vital signs.
• Assist physicians and RNs with examinations and procedures.
