Job summary

Sanford Health, the nation’s largest rural health system, seeks a Medication Assistant for night shifts to provide resident-centered nursing care under supervision. Duties include basic care, vital signs, medication administration per nurse authorization, and daily living activities in a long-term care setting.

You will participate in documentation, care planning, and wellness programs while ensuring safety and compassionate support for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18 preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Keeps up with annual competency testing and continuing education credits.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and psycho-social support.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care outcomes and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, and mobility as needed.
• Contribute to meals and dining experience and assist with snacks.
