Job summary

Cheney Brothers in Florida City is seeking a Shuttle Driver to move empty trailers to warehouse locations and then deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, working safely under DOT regulations.

Night shift (4pm–7pm) with an average annual pay of $71,000. Must hold a CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, be at least 21, pass drug and road tests, and be able to lift 60–90 pounds as part of a teamwork driven operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday -Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspects tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to the route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Manages damaged goods and returns paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and trash from trailers as required.
• Keeps daily hours-of-service logs per DOT and company requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
