Job summary

The University of Texas Dell Medical School seeks a Cardiovascular ICU Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider to join the team on a full-time basis at UT Main Campus. The selected APP/PA will staff the cardiovascular ICU and cross-cover the telemetry ward, delivering expert, patient-focused care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Experience in cardiac critical care is preferred; licensure in Texas as a PA or APRN with prescriptive authority is required.

Qualifications

• PA credentialed by the Texas Medical Board or RN license by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Acute Care Nursing or Physician Assistant credentials required.
• Cardiac critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff ICU: provide direct patient care and coordinate with multidisciplinary team.
• Obtain history, perform exams, order and interpret tests.
• Prescribe medications/arrange referrals as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Mentor staff and participate in orientation.
