Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Cardiac Surgery team in a dedicated nocturnal inpatient role. The NP or PA will serve as a key clinical provider caring for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients throughout the continuum of hospitalization, collaborating with cardiac surgeons, physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary care teams.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited PA program.Master’s degree.
• Master’s degree in nursing with Advanced Practice Education Program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing physical examinations.
• Develop and evaluate the plan of care with tests and diagnostics.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other studies.
• Provide patient/family education and counseling.
• Participate in quality and research initiatives to improve practice.
• Collaborate with research projects and apply best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
