Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School and Dell Children’s Medical Center seek Advanced Practice Nurses to join the night shift team for the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class pediatric heart care to a growing regional population.

Successful candidates will hold an RN or APN/PA license in Texas, possess relevant master’s level qualifications, and have experience with complex pediatric

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas.
• Master's degree required.
• APN with prescriptive authority in Texas.
• PA licensed in Texas; acute care experience preferred.
• Experience with adults with complex congenital/acquired heart disease is required or preferred.
• Substitution of education/experience allowed as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessments; orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies; conducts health assessments and screenings.
• Provides direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsels patients and families on health conditions and treatment options.
• Documents care delivery per specialty standards and policies.
• Participates in staff and student orientation and education.
