Job summary

University of Texas at Austin - Dell Medical School seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to staff the Cardiovascular ICU and cross-cover the telemetry ward. The role partners with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.

The APP/PA will diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, primarily in the ICU, with opportunities to work in outpatient settings as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: NP/PA credentialed from the Texas Medical Board or RN credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority in Cardiac Critical Care.
• Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Primarily staff the cardiovascular ICU and cross-cover the telemetry ward.
• Provide direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsel patients and families about conditions, treatments, and resources.
• Document care in accordance with specialty standards and policies.
• Participate in orientation and education of staff and students.
