Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor (Highway Maintenance) II for the NYC Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges. This supervisory role oversees bridges and related structures, coordinates preventive maintenance, and ensures safety and mobility for city users.

You will manage field crews, assign work locations, monitor progress, and compile reports. A Class B CDL and several years in road/bridge maintenance, including supervisory experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in roadway or bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair with asphalt and concrete.
• At least two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Possession of a Class B CDL valid in New York State with no air brake restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a borough, multi-borough, or citywide bridge preventive maintenance operation.
• Assigns work locations, monitors progress and quality, and oversees crews.
• Compiles reports and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Visits field crews at least once per shift and oversees snow operations when required.
