Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation is seeking an Area Supervisor (Highway Maintenance) I to oversee maintenance crews responsible for bridges, tunnels, and related structures on a dynamic schedule from 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with potential shift variations. The role requires proven supervisory experience and a valid NY CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement.

Qualifications

Four years of full-time experience in roadway or bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License valid in New York State, with no restrictions on air brakes, maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

Assign work locations and monitor progress and quality of maintenance work on bridges, tunnels, and related structures.
Oversee fence, debris, cleaning, and maintenance crews; prepare reports for citywide operations.
Respond to emergencies and participate in anti-icing and snow operations as needed.
Keep job records and other documentation; visit field crews each shift.
Work must cover day, evening, or night shifts as required.
