Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Local 68 Apprentice Engineer for a 11pm-7am shift to perform general building maintenance and minor repairs. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and apprenticeship/trade school participation, with 1+ year of related property experience preferred.

Responsibilities include custodial tasks, painting, hardware replacement, basic labor, and responding to emergencies while ensuring safety compliance and proper use of building automation systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience in a commercial property setting preferred
• Willingness to participate in apprentice or trade school programs
• Ability to use technology including smartphones, tablets, computers and web-based apps

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance under close supervision
• Carry out custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs
• Assist engineers with general labor, material handling and errands
• Replace and repair door hardware, locks and keys
• Paint interior/exterior surfaces and prepare surfaces prior to painting
• Replace light bulbs, lamps and ballasts; clean fixtures
• Move furniture and set up modular systems as needed
• Perform vacancy clean up and organization
• Respond to emergencies and customer service requests
• Inspect and maintain sidewalks, common areas and parking facilities
• Assist with snow removal and leaf sweeping as needed
• Comply with codes, regulations and safety practices

Education
