Job summary

The Village of Tinley Park is seeking a mature 911 Dispatcher for the Tinley Park 911 Dispatch Center. You will handle emergency and non-emergency calls, provide EMD instructions, and operate the CAD/LEADS/NCIC systems to coordinate Police, Fire and EMS responses.

Qualifications include a HS diploma and 1–3 years dispatch experience; LEADS within 2 weeks; EMD and CPR/AED within 6 months. Night shift, full-time, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years dispatch or related public service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of public safety communications environment and standard dispatch terminology.
• Must obtain LEADS within 2 weeks of hire; EMD and CPR/ AED within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, and dispatch incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS.
• Provide Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) instructions over the phone.
• Monitor police, fire and EMS radio traffic and manage CAD/communication systems.
• Relay information to field units and coordinate notifications for incidents.
• Maintain records and logs per department policies and procedures.
