Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada, Inc. is seeking an Overnight Support Staff member for the Meadowview Navigation Center in Sacramento. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to women experiencing homelessness and support program guests and team members.

The role requires working 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, weekends, and delivering quality service while maintaining safety and security. Benefits include holidays, vacation, and comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating with guests in shelter settings is required.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and assist guests and staff in emergencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with program guests in a trauma-informed, compassionate manner.
• Explain program requirements and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate meal service, room assignments, and daily routines.
• Maintain security and safety; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Complete shift logs and incident reports.
